One Day Workshop in Varnishing and Priming!

Throughout my 16 years of teaching I faced a countless questions from my students regarding the varnishes and primers (or gesso). Varnishing can be troublesome and frustrating even to the experienced artist. The best way to explain it is by demonstration and hands on experience. Varnishing restores the saturated appearance of oil colors, provides a hard protective layer

For the past four years many of my students participated in the annual group exhibitions in Schacknow Museum of Fine Arts.
This exhibition will take place in February – March 2013. There will be not preliminary judging, just bring in your best (up to three or more) works and have fun.
SMOFA is a small museum in Plantation. We will have a nice reception with food and wine. There will be press coverage as well. Please invite your family and friends.
Dates:
Feb 2013 through March 2013 Reception day: Sat, February 2nd, 2013 from 6:30pm to 9:00 pm
Bring artworks (one day only), Sat, January 26, 2013, from 10;00 am to 3;00 pm,
Pick up artworks Saturday March 30, 2013 ( $5 fee a day for art work not pick up on March 30, 2013)
Fee: $35 payable to SMOFA (drop the check or cash at my place).
Please bring your check as soon as possible to reserve your space. The museum curator may take other artist if they dont receive your payment. Individual artists pay $200 to participate so we are getting a great deal.

Douglas Flynt shared with us generously his amazing skill, and deep knowledge in the field of color perception, optical science of light and color with practical application using Munsell system and his own method of color strings for the flesh tones, clear enough for anyone to understand.. All of this was done with warm disposition, dedication and great professionalism. In short, we loved him.
Here are some photos from our recent drawing sessions. I received a very positive feedback from the participants and the request to continue to conduct drawing sessions on the regular basis. I am planning to start the drawing classes in December

The workshop with Juan Martinez from Canada was concluded with a glass of champagne celebrating life and art.
Juan Martinez is a great teacher: Very knowledgable in his profession, skillful in conveying his knowledge, his didactic methods are excellent.
